The stage is set for SummerSlam 2017. With rosters from both SmackDown Live and Raw coming together for the biggest party of the summer at the Barclays Center on August 20 let’s make a couple of last-minute predictions.

On July, 10 I gave my 10 (very) Early SummerSlam Predictions. Some of them are still very much a possibility, while others, with the benefit of hindsight, seem much more knee-jerk than they did a month ago.

However, I always try to make my predictions interesting, outrageous yet grounded in kayfabe or at least somewhat consistent with WWE’s erratic booking. Why do I mention this? Not simply because I like to pretend I am ahead of the curve, but because of how unpredictable SummerSlam 2016 was. Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins to become the inaugural Universal Champ, AJ Styles beat John Cena for the third straight PPV.Perhaps the most unforgettable was returning Randy Orton facing off against the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. The match was hyped for months and promised to be a competitive affair with two of WWE’s biggest stars. Until it wasn’t.

Brock Lesnar, for all intents and purposes, decimated Randy Orton. He left him, quite literally, unconscious in a pool of his own blood. After over 10 minutes of destruction, Lesnar won via technical knockout.

With the precedent set from last year, let’s throw all regard to the wind come up with for our 3 last-minute SummerSlam predictions…
