2. Dean Ambrose Gets Retribution
Quite honestly, I think the WWE universe is blinded by the fact they want a Shield (semi-) reunion so badly that they are missing the bigger picture. When the Shield debuted they were a force to be reckoned with. But with a single swing of a steel chair, Seth Rollins broke the Shield and the hearts of the WWE fans. Now, the WWE has been teasing a reunion since Survivor Series 2016.
However, what is the motivation for Dean Ambrose? Sentimentality? Sorry, but Dean Ambrose doesn’t strike me as a very sentimental superstar. Besides that, since the Shield dissolved, he has been at the top of the mountain. Remember, he cashed in on his former Shield member at Money in the Bank 2016. Then, at Battleground, he defended against Reigns and Rollins. He’s already proved that, on his own, Ambrose is the most talented member of the Shield. He’s also has a couple of reigns as Intercontinental Champion to his resume.
So what’s his motivation? Retribution. Ambrose has shown he can be cynical, aggressive, and has a mean streak. When Seth broke up the Shield, it took something from Ambrose and I think he is looking for his pound of flesh.
Furthermore, a completely unhinged heel Ambrose would knock it out of the park. Speculation always was that if the Shield were to break up Ambrose was the logical Heel to come from the faction. Having Ambrose play heel to Seth Rollins as a babyface would be very interesting. Also, it would help improve Rollins push as a babyface to have a real threat standing in his way.
