WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. Finn Balor
The Miz has been the best Intercontinental Champion of the last decade and finally brought the title back to relevance back in 2016.
However, his latest run has not been successful. Despite putting on some great work with his newly formed Miztourage, The Miz has been cast aside for other matches and talent.
His Intercontinental Championship was not even defended at SummerSlam. The Miz can not bring the title back to life on his own, so he needs a formidable opponent to help him do so.
Finn Balor can be that guy. After being the inaugural Universal Champion, Finn was injured and out of action until the day after WrestleMania. Upon his return, Finn has been in a creative rut and unable to advance back up to that top spot.
A shot at the Intercontinental Championship and maybe even a win against The Miz would help out Finn Balor back on the right track.
Finn is one of WWE’s most beloved Superstars, and The Miz is one of WWE’s most hated Superstars, so it would make for a good match if these two were to collide with gold on the line at WrestleMania 34.
WWE United States Championship Match
Baron Corbin (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Rusev vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Sami Zayn
This match, which will likely take the fall as WrestleMania’s staple ladder match, is really just here to give guys that are too big to be in the kickoff show but too small to be in marquee matches something to do at WrestleMania.
Corbin just lost his Money in The Bank contract, so he will likely get a push going for another title instead. He could get a major rub by dethroning AJ Styles as the United States Champion.
Then, this could reignite his feud with Sami Zayn, and Jinder’s old beef with Sami could get him involved in that feud (let’s face it, Jinder is not going to stay in the world title picture for that long), and the appearance of Jinder could bring The Viper into the feud since he now has a win over the Modern Day Maharaja, and that could bring Rusev out to avenge his pitiful loss at SummerSlam.
Then, because Baron Corbin is a heel, he will get put into a situation where he angered the authority figures and will have to defend against all of them in a ladder match.
It’s not an exciting match, but it is one that has to be there.
