WWE: Baron Corbin Only Has Himself to Blame
When WWE star Baron Corbin won the Money in the Bank briefcase, it looked like he had a bright future ahead of him, as tends to be the case when someone wins the said briefcase. Recently though, that all seems to have flown out the window.
Going into WWE SummerSlam Baron Corbin appeared to have all the momentum in the world. Then, on the Tuesday night before SummerSlam, Corbin attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on a beaten down Jinder Mahal. Only for John Cena to distract him and cost Corbin his opportunity.
Leading to a match at SummerSlam, that Corbin lost. For the majority of the match, Corbin had control; it looked liked Corbin was going to win at one point. Only for Cena to hit a clothesline, then an AA for the win.
For the majority of the match though it was evident that Cena could not care less about the match. Cena would go so far as to go out of the ring and joke with JBL about the match shortly after the bell rang. Cena, who typically goes all out for every match, only got in a few offensive moves. When he was not doing his generic move set, Cena was just lying on the canvas.
While Cena not participating in this match could be nothing, it has fueled the fire in the rumor mill that Corbin is being punished for his online altercation with Dave Meltzer.
Rumors have been circulating that Corbin’s push was canceled because of his actions on Twitter. Which not only included the argument with Dave but apparently Corbin also blocked some WWE officials sometime afterward.

While it is true that Corbin is supposed to be a heel, and acting like this stays true to his character, it also makes the company look bad. WWE could not allow him to bash an industry legend like Dave Meltzer and get away with it. Though I am sure, McMahon is not a big fan of Meltzer. Since, Meltzer has ruined multiple storylines for WWE over the years, by reporting the intended outcome.
