WWE Raw: Will We See Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar?

With Braun Strowman set to take on Brock Lesnar, will we ever see Finn Balor go up against the Beast Incarnate sometime in the near future in WWE?

A red-hot edition of Monday night WWE Raw followed SummerSlam this week. Storylines progressed and the No Mercy card has started to take shape. We already know Brock Lesnar would defend his title against Braun Strowman in the main event of the PPV. However, the question must be asked about Finn Balor. The first Universal champion, who never lost his title has not even tried once to reclaim what he never lost.

More than anything else, it reflects on Balor’s character in front of the fans. We have known, admired and respected him as a fierce competitor. There is no reason as to why he should not intend to face Lesnar. Ever since Balor’s return, he has been entangled in the upper mid-card scene. The sad part is, Balor hasn’t even eyed any other championships in the WWE. If the Universal title is not a part of his immediate future, how about the Inter Continental title?

It could be argued that the main event scene has been crowded ever since Balor returned. Moreover, former champions like Seth Rollins are also waiting in line to get back to title contention. However, Rollins, in the mean time has gone on to evolve and find his place in the tag division. Moreover, he is entangled in an intriguing Shield reunion story. Unlike Rollins, Finn Balor is yet to find his place on the main roster ever since his return.

However, as of now, one can’t complain that the main event scene is crowded anymore. Brock Lesnar came away as the winner after facing 3 of Raw’s top main eventers. Now it’s time for someone else. Lesnar vs Strowman might be a way to extend his title reign and place a defense in there for namesake. I wouldn’t be surprised if Strowman loses track of his goal and ends up beating up Lesnar all around the arena. Ultimately, that would leave the title in the hands of the Beast Incarnate itself.

We could very well see one more showdown between Lesnar and Cena. However, it is Cena’s interaction with Roman Reigns that raises the most intrigue. The two faces of the WWE could very well be on a collision course. Seeing as it could be the passing of the torch moment, it needs to come at the right time. Honestly, there is no greater right time than WrestleMania. However, seeing as how we have been lead to believe Reigns would face Lesnar and win at WrestleMania, some major rework would need to be done.

This could be where Balor makes his move. Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar would be an ideal main event for WrestleMania. Moreover, after seeing Roman Reigns in the main event all these years, it would be a nice nod to the fans. At the very least, the fans won’t boo the proposed babyface in the match throughout the main event. To see the demon make his entrance during WrestleMania and go up fearlessly against Lesnar would be a sight for ages. The image of the demon holding the Universal title that was rightfully his, over a fallen Brock Lesnar would give the fans some serious goosebumps.

As a bonus, if Lesnar were to indeed leave the WWE after next year’s WrestleMania, perhaps Finn Balor could be the next Paul Heyman guy. Imagine the possibilities and the repercussions that might generate? From a legitimate Bullet Club to Balor’s domination, anything could be possible. What are your thoughts?
