WWE Rumors: Beach Balls Banned from All Future Live Events
By Harry Austen
According to a new report, Beach Ball Mania is dead. And by that, the WWE has finally decided to ban beach balls from all future live events.
According to a report from PW Insider‘s Mike Johnson, the WWE have had enough of the beach ball shenanigans:
"Following a number of incidents involving beach balls at SummerSlam and Monday Night Raw this week, WWE officially banned not just beach balls but all pool-related paraphenalia from last night’s Smackdown."
During Cesaro and Sheamus’ match against Rollins and Ambrose, fans seemed more interested in a beach ball being thrown around, then the action taking place in the ring. And because of this, Cesaro ran out to the crowd, stole the beach ball, and ripped it to shreds. Entertaining stuff:
However, it may have been entertaining at the time, but it does show a lack of respect from the fans to the Superstars. As such, the WWE is taking away these distractions.
The report continues:
"We are told an edict from WWE was issued to all security staff at the Barclays Center informing them that beach balls, pool noodles or any other inflatable items that could be bounced around were banned from the event. There were several moments where fans sent beach balls out to be bounced around during Smackdown’s broadcast, but the balls were quickly confiscated by Barclays Center staff and removed from the arena."
I don’t usually agree with WWE on a lot of things, but I completely get this decision. It takes away from the match. Moreover, it takes away the attention from the Superstars, to the crowd. When you’re watching fans throw around a beach ball – like on Sunday – your eyes aren’t on the product. Which is where your eyes really should be.
I appreciate a lively crowd; it plays into the emotion of a match. However, what I don’t appreciate is a crowd throwing around a beach ball, to take away from the action in the ring. You can understand why Cesaro disposed of the ball, because in all honestly – even though it’s in good fun – it’s insulting to the stars trying to put on a great match for the fans enjoyment.
I do find the situation relatively humorous, as the WWE recently put out the WWE 24 special on the RAW after WrestleMania, which featured a segment purely based on fans and beach balls.

Now, the company is calling for all beach balls to be banned from live events. I mean, what did they really expect to happen? Fans want nothing more than to be featured on WWE programming, however, they just took it a step too far.
