Welcome to the Smackdown Division Rankings after Summerslam.
These are the power rankings for each division on Smackdown Live for this following week. Each division would be ranked based on storyline progression and win/loss record as of 2017. Also each division would be divided by contenders and pretenders, to differentiate the challengers in their respective division. I’ll also highlight a specific superstar in each division and explain their ranking based on their actions. Win/Loss record is provided by CageMatch.Net.
Each superstar or tag team can move up or down the rankings based on victory, defeat or storyline progression. Let’s get right to the rankings.

The Smackdown Live Women’s Division
Highlights of the Division
Natalya finally climbed the championship mountain on Summerslam but the question is how long will she be on top. It was surprising to see that Carmella didn’t cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Sunday but it looks like it’ll be a matter of time. It’s somewhat disappointing that Natalya is basically placed as a transitional champion until Carmella cashes in but she’ll need to make the most out of this situation. There are eerie similarities to that of her Hall of Fame uncle Bret Hart, where most of his title reigns in the WWE were in a transitional time till the WWE crowned their own champion of the future. What Natalya will need to do is take a page out of Bret Hart’s playbook and create memorable matches and moments that will define her championship run.
As for Naomi, she’s still owed a title rematch after her loss at Summerslam. There could be a 50/50 chance that she could regain the championship back from Natalya but there is still one obstacle: Carmella. The Princess of Staten Island has positioned herself as the eventual Women’s Champion just by threatening to cash in the briefcase anytime she wants. So whatever Naomi does in her title rematch might be muted soon afterwards. She had a fantastic title run the past few months so it’ll be interesting to see how she transitions back into a title contender once again.
Meanwhile, for the rest of the division.
Lana has been excelling well as a motivational speaker in her managerial role for Tamina. The next chapter in the Smackdown Women’s Division is definitely going to be intriguing. The story of turning Tamina from a forgotten pretender to destructive title contender will be fascinating. Her rise to the top is long over due and thrashing the competition to get to the championship will shape up to be a box office hit. Taming has been one of the more under-utilized talent on the WWE roster for years, it’s about time that she gets her run to the top.
