SmackDown Live is finally…GLORIOUS.

Bobby Roode ended up making his debut on SmackDown Live this week after dropping the NXT Championship to Drew McIntyre at Saturday’s NXT Takeover event.

What was really interesting about his debut was that he debuted as a face. After spending the entirety of his run in NXT as a heel, he debuted on the main roster as a face who defeated Aiden English.

Since WWE has put so much effort into working Roode as a heel in developmental, it is likely that his face persona will not last.

It was smart to debut him as a face since the crowd is always hyped to see a surprising debut, but he will turn soon, and there is no one better to do that against than AJ Styles.

Styles is a face that is beloved by all fans, and Roode can start off on the main roster as a main event level heel by turning on The Phenomenal One. This could begin with Roode accepting the Open Challenge as a face and turning on Styles during or after the match.

This could then transgress into a full blown feud between the two that would end in a blowoff match at the next PPV, or it could continue into future PPVs, as well.

The Glorious One is deserving of some gold, or at least an opportunity at some, and I will not be surprised if he gets that opportunity very soon.
