WWE: Adam Cole Bringing Faction Warfare to the Future of NXT
WWE NXT is in for the wrath of Adam Cole and his new faction of former ROH stars.
This Past Saturday’s NXT Takeover event did exactly what a good show should do. It left fans with the desire to see what’s next while evoking more questions than answers. As the closing moments of the event were upon us, newly crowned NXT Champion Drew McIntyre, had his celebration cut short. Much like earlier in the evening, from out of nowhere came Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. The former reDRagon made their intentions in WWE NXT very obvious as they had previously dismantled Sanity and the Authors of Pain. For their second appearance though, they weren’t alone.
McIntyre was distracted by Fish and O’Reilly, Adam Cole would run in from the crowd and blind side the new champion. It had been rumored for months since his departure from ROH that Cole was on his way, only for those rumors to become fact, as word of his signing had gotten out. Making a statement in his first appearance was key and Cole more than succeeded. By the time the screen went to black, it was evident Cole was after the NXT Championship and Fish/O’Reilly the NXT Tag Titles.
WIth the attacks on Sanity and McIntyre by this unnamed gang, it appears we will have a war on the horizon. Some have drawn lines between the stars involved and their previous employers. TNA had been the most recent employer of Young and McIntyre. Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly were under the Ring of Honor banner. Now that all are under the umbrella of the WWE, it feels as if a TNA vs. ROH showdown is brewing.

History ties the bonds of Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly. They have worked together and as foes in the past for ROH. With more former ROH talent heading to Full Sail, this mini ROH faction could grow. Shocking the NXT Universe was only step one, taking over is the future.
