GFW Impact Wrestling Review; Results and Analysis for September 7

The new GFW Global Champion defends his championship against number one contender Matt Sydal on Impact this week. Sydal became the number one contender after defeating Lashley at Destination X. He chose to challenge for the Global Championship and gets his chance tonight. It could be the Cinderella story but Eli Drake will not take Sydal lightly. Eli Drake even as champion has something to prove in this title match.
The best of the X-Division is showcased in tag team action. Sonjay Dutt has formed an alliance with the returning Petey Williams. After Trevor Lee stole Dutt’s X-Division Championship, a ladder match would eventually form these alliances. Caleb Konley introduced himself to the fold to help Trevor Lee during his title match. Tonight, they will be able to show exactly which team can work the best together.
Taryn Terrell makes her in ring return after attacking Gail Kim at Destination X. She teams with Sienna to take on Allie and Gail Kim. Terrell attacked Allie last week leaving Karen Jarrett to think that Sienna was involved given their longstanding rivalry. As an issue of revenge, Jarrett books this match so that Allie and Kim can gain some retribution.
Also on tonight’s Impact, “the Standy Wrestler” Richard Justice is still standing by after his encounter with Kongo Kong. The Latin American Xchange are met with new impressive challenges after a simple victory. Footage from AAA’s Triplemania is shown and even the Rosemary, Sexy Star controversy is discussed.
