Backstage Extras

Grado needs to cut off the wedding with Laurel Van Ness.  Van Ness is not happy about the situation and we may get a return of Broken Laurel Van Ness.  She seems to be going crazy again as she was left practically at the alter again.  Footage is shown from AAA Triplemania where many Impact stars were involved like Johnny Impact, Moose, and Lashley.  They even mentioned the Rosemary issue and how there was something that was just not right.  The two plan to let the issues pass them by and rebuild that relationship.

Dezmond Xavier talks about his journey to winning the Super X Cup.  He discusses his time in Maryland and how his military background was an influence.  It was Ohio Versus Everything who kept his mind straight.  Xavier feels like winning the Super X Cup was a huge accomplishment and will propel him to the X-Division Championship.  Also, Richard Justice is still standing by even though he got destroyed by Kongo Kong last week.

Global Force Wrestling Championship Match

Eli Drake (c) vs Matt Sydal

Result:  Drake def. Sydal via pinfall

Eli Drake lets his arrogance often get the best of him and that happened early in this match.  Sydal kept Drake on his toes with his speed but Drake was able to take control when he slowed the match down.  Sydal doesn’t give Eli Drake any time to recover but the involvement of Chris Adonis allows the champion to fight back.  Drake starts to take every advantage that he can get as he tries to keep his title.  The champion used plenty of illegal maneuvers which could be frustration that he hasn’t ended the match yet.

It seems to only be a matter of time before Sydal finds his second wind.  The burst even shows Matt Sydal’s strength against the champion and had some moments where Sydal could’ve been victorious.  Eli Drake misses with a shot with the championship belt and Sydal captalizes.  An additional distraction by Adonis leads to a successful title shot and the Gravy Train.  Eli Drake defeats Matt Sydal to retain the GFW Global Championship.
