4. Elias

WHO WANTS TO WALK WITH ELIAS?

Elias was not very well known in NXT, and he never really amounted any success during his tenure there. He was an effective heel in the fact that he generated heat, but most of those boos were there due to the fact that fans wanted him off their TV screens.

Regardless, Elias made the jump to the main roster when he debuted on Raw after WrestleMania. He started out with his drifting gimmick where he would just be seen randomly walking around playing his guitar.

This was great as he would ruin serious or heartfelt moments by interrupting backstage promos. Elias eventually wrestled in the ring and would actually defeat the likes of Finn Balor and Dean Ambrose. Elias cemented his status as a midcard heel with these cheap wins.

However, Elias is not over with the crowd due to his wrestling. He is over due to his gimmick. Each week, Elias performs a little concert for the hometown. It is hard to hear him berate the town in his song due to all the boos that erupt from the town.

Regardless, Elias is brilliant with his hometown ribs, starting over when the crowd will not hold their “applause” until the end, and telling the crowd to put their phones away. Each concert seems to get better and better as each crowd seems to hate him more and more.

Despite finding little success in NXT, Elias is finding himself as a staple of Raw‘s weekly programming with his singing gimmick.
