How this was the final match of the night is beyond me. It didn’t “main event”; that segment is reserved for Mr. McMahon. The two teams had a predictable and quick tag match in which the team of Gable & Benjamin won. Shelton looked a little rusty in the ring, which is to be expected after being away for so long.
I can’t help but feel like the WWE is falling into the same trap with Gable & Benjamin that they did with American Alpha. The team has shown great continuity and have plowed through every tag team they faced. But there is an innate story with the duo that is completely being neglected. Let’s hope that it doesn’t lead to the same outcome of AA.
After the match, Mojo Rawley shakes their hands, but Zack Ryder exits the ring. It looks like they are finally going to try to do something interesting with The Hype Bros. A Zack Ryder heel turn perhaps? But we have seen that WWE is reluctant to pull the trigger in the past.
