3. Neville vs. Enzo Amore

I’m a huge fan of Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, Ariya Daivari, TJ Perkins, and all of the other underrated stars of 205 Live, but it would be wholly unfair to suggest that anyone can touch Neville right now. The likes of Alexander and Metalik are indeed as proficient as Neville between the ropes, but the latter’s character work is so extraordinary that he is in a class of his own, right up there with literally any main roster talent.

However, 205 Live hasn’t exactly been booming of late, and the brief, ill-advised, switch from Neville for Akira Tozawa as the Cruiserweight Champion prior to SummerSlam did nothing to re-ignite interest in the division.

What has brought renewed vigor from the WWE Universe, however, is the decision to move Enzo Amore to the Cruiserweight Division, which had been rumored ever since Enzo’s break-up with Big Cass. Amore is a poor in-ring performer, and while his promos are usually extremely entertaining, they can be awkward. Nevertheless, Enzo’s ability to work a crowd is simply sublime, and you can sense the electricity in the air, particularly on his debut, when he steps in between those royal-purple ropes.

I’m not looking forward to seeing Enzo “dethrone” Neville in a championship match at No Mercy, but if it means we get more interest in 205 Live, which is WWE’s most criminally underrated product and one of the best wrestling shows in the world right now, then I’ll swallow that horse-sized pill.

Enzo’s recent wins on 205 Live have been sloppy, and he needs to continue to win via shady means. He isn’t nearly on the level of any of these guys as a performer, and that needs to be continually showcased. The story-telling in his Fatal Five-Way win to earn this championship opportunity was excellent, as he stole the win away from Cedric Alexander, who did all the work to eliminate the rest of the field.
