WWE No Mercy 2017 Predictions: 3 Possible Upsets
1. The Bar vs. The Shield
The Raw tag team division is incredibly boring right now. The matches that Cesaro and Sheamus put together against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, whether they are tag matches or singles matches with heavy interference, are entertaining. However, there’s no real story here, and it just feels like they are feuding to pass time. The Shield’s victory at SummerSlam was entirely predictable, and that’s a good thing. The bad thing is that it feels like a guarantee they will win at No Mercy, which makes me wonder if the WWE could be interested in swerve here.
Right now, “The Bar” and “The Shield” are the only tag teams of any relevance on Raw. Sure, The Club and The Hardy Boyz could get a throwaway match at No Mercy, but the fact that neither of those two tag teams are doing anything notable is a sign of just how little the WWE cares about their tag team division. At this point, the only thing that could save this division is a return from The Revival to feud with Ambrose and Rollins.
I can’t see Rollins and Ambrose losing this match, just because it wouldn’t make any logical sense. But the WWE has made plenty of illogical decisions just for the sake of surprising people, and an easy way to do that is to create a shocking finish in a tag team match that most prognosticators view as a “Slam Dunk” anyway.
