Jinder Mahal Continues to Warn Nakamura About Racism in the USA

This basically is a cut and paste from last week’s Jinder Mahal promo. The WWE Champion warns Nakamura that racism is pervasive in the United States, and the fans will turn on him.

At its core, the angle could have been an insightful commentary on the current race relations in the US (which I won’t get into). But ultimately the delivery is so strange that the message just falls flat.

I feel like I gave Mahal a chance as the WWE Champion, but I just want it to end. A loss to Nakamura at Hell in the Cell is necessary.

AJ Styles Open Challenge

Styles enters the ring and condemns KO’s attack on the man who helped bring him to the WWE, Vince McMahon. He warns KO when he enters the ring with Shane, there won’t be any escape.

After getting that out of the way, Styles moves on to his opponent; Baron Corbin. Styles lists all of the things that Corbin has failed at his Money in the Bank cash in and his match with John Cena at SummerSlam. AJ says that the failures will only continue tonight when he challenges for the Us Title.

Right before the bell rings, Corbin assaults Styles. The ref tries to pull him off, but Corbin is seeing red and continues his attack. However, Tye Dillinger comes out and exacts some revenge. Dillinger cuts Corbin’s legs out from under him and delivers a vicious beatdown of his own.

As the refs pull Dillinger away, a hobbled Baron Corbin is unable to compete and pas for it with a stiff elbow from AJ Styles.

I really hope that this sets up a Triple-Threat Match for the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell. If they can get the belt of AJ Styles and put him in the WWE Championship with Nakamura, that would be great.
