WWE Hell in a Cell: Will Triple H Get Involved with Kevin Owens?

Kevin Owens has taken over Smackdown Live.

Smackdown Live has become the Kevin Owens Show.  We are just a week removed from the headbutt heard around the world.  In a heated confrontation between Kevin Owens and Vince McMahon, Owens would attack McMahon.

After getting a guarantee that Owens wouldn’t see any legal action from attacking “a McMahon,” the former Universal Champion pounced.  A headbutt, superkick and frogsplash later, the Chairman of WWE was left bleeding on the mat.  Agents, referees, and even Stephanie McMahon would rush down to protect McMahon.  That is where the story gets interesting.

There was one person missing from the action, Triple H.  If you’d remember, when Kevin Owens won his first Universal Championship, he didn’t do it alone.  After making a surprise return, after attacking his former charge Seth Rollins, Hunter would hand the victory to Owens.  It would seem The Authority would have a new horse to back in Owens.

So as the current feud between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens has begun to reach a fever pitch it brought back memories of old.  The McMahon family has been in this position before.  Another former ally of Triple H would wreak havoc on his family, that man being Randy Orton.  Orton would methodically take out and attack each member of the McMahon clan.  First with Vince, then Shane, and finally Stephanie.  This would all lead to Triple H seeking revenge on Orton and eventually defeating him at WrestleMania.

Owens is finding himself going down a familiar path.  He has now taken out Vince, has a match with Shane at Hell in a Cell, leaving only Stephanie.  But that is where things get interesting.  When Orton began attacking the McMahons it was to gain revenge against Triple H.  In this scenario, KO doesn’t have any gripes with Hunter, thus making his absence more curious.  Some have wondered if this is more than it seems and Owens is merely the hitman.

With Triple H gaining more and more power within the infrastructure of the WWE, he would gain tremendously from Vince being out of the picture.  So could Triple H be working in the shadows and using Owens to do his dirty work?  The progression of the KO-Shane feud will be the true answer to the question.  There have been rumors of a Triple H-Shane WrestleMania match since Shane’s return.  This would surely be an interesting way to light the fuse leading to that explosion.
