The RAW Mid Card Division

Highlights of the division

The hottest superstar in the mid card division will finally get a chance to face the Miz for the Intercontinental Championship. The past few weeks, Jason Jordan has shown that he can hang with the top guys of Monday Night Raw. He also did show flashes of character growth with his verbal exchanges at both the Miz and Kurt Angle. This is extremely important for the fans to start giving a damn about this talented prospect. He’s always been a bland superstar who was extremely talented in the ring. Now he’s showing that he’s angry at the world for thinking he wouldn’t make it that far on Raw because of Kurt Angle. The Miz should be favoured to retain the gold at No Mercy, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see if this feud continues afterwards.

Goldust had a huge moment on Raw when he addressed Kurt Angle backstage as Dustin Rhodes. This sudden change of character was refreshing with a bit of coincidence added on top of it. Earlier during the day, Michael Hayes on Twitter offered the Ring of Honor World Champion Cody Rhodes a chance to tag with his brother Goldust at WWE Starcade in November. Dustin did lose to Bray Wyatt in his rematch on Raw. But could it be the first sign that he could be dropping his character? It’s highly unlikely that either scenario would happen, especially since Cody isn’t in the WWE anymore. But will Dustin Rhodes be a permanent fixture on Raw or will he revert back to being Goldust after No Mercy concludes?

Meanwhile, for the rest of the division.

Curt Hawkins made a surprise appearance on Raw and actually acknowledge his losing streak he’s been on since coming back to the WWE. These 114 losses he endured are a combination of losses on live events and TV appearances, which aren’t been counted on in these rankings. Apollo Crews beat Hawkins in quick fashion which kept the streak alive. There could be a day that Hawkins does get a win, if that happens, it’ll either be an unforgettable Raw moment of the ages or a washroom break segment.

Both Apollo Crews and Kalisto should be inserted into title shot opportunities in the near future. Guys like Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel shouldn’t be sniffing at main event title shot matches. The WWE has done a horrible job in this specific division if they plan to book two tag teams like the Hardys and the Miztourage to challenge for the Intercontential Championhip. It’s ridiculous that Kalisto is one of the few men who has beaten Braun Strowman this year and he can’t get any title shot on Raw. As for Apollo Crews, he’s making waves with Titus Worldwide by meeting celebrities but isn’t getting no real opportunities on Monday Nights. These guys are the top contenders in the mid card division, they shouldn’t be sidelined for two tag teams in a No. 1 contenders match.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
