WWE NXT: Adam Cole to Make His In-Ring Debut Wednesday
By Rob Furness
Adam Cole will make is in-ring debut against SAnitY’s Eric Young on Wednesday, Sept 27 on WWE NXT.
After originally thought to have been missing or dead, Adam Cole made his WWE NXT debut at Takeover: Brooklyn III. There he joined Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish to form the Undisputed Era. The faction made quite an impact, blindsiding the Authors of Pain, SAnitY, and Drew McIntyre.
Drew McIntyre and SAnitY fired back last Wednesday. After defeating Mustache Mountain, McIntyre came out to challenge the Undisputed Era. After ducking into the crowd it looked like the trio was safe. That is, until the NXT Tag Champions, SAnitY, blocked their escape.
It’s now been officially announced by WWE that Cole will make his in-ring debut this Wednesday. His opponent is none other than SAnitY’s leader Eric Young.
Cole has already been penciled in as the next real threat to the NXT Championship (sorry Roderick Strong). The matchup gives SAnitY a chance at retribution for Takeover: Brooklyn III, and puts Cole in a match with one of NXT’s biggest stars.
Assumingly, the faction warfare angle will eventually lead to Adam Cole vs Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship. As part of a faction, the much smaller Cole may have an easier time being a threat to McIntyre.
However, the real wild card here are the Authors of Pain. Though they didn’t lose because of the Undisputed Era, the post-match beat down added insult to injury. Having burned so many bridges already, it’s only a matter of time before the Undisputed Era find themselves outnumbered.

A former three-time world champion at Ring of Honor, Cole headlined a list of new talent acquisitions for NXT. It’s no surprise that WWE would want to insert him immediately into the main event scene.
