3. Cesaro May Just Be The Toughest Guy In The WWE

During the Raw tag team title match Sunday night, Cesaro found himself in a vulnerable position.  With his ankles hooked under the armpits of Dean Ambrose, the chances of “The Swiss Superman” being catapulted were almost automatic.  And that’s exactly what happened.  Cesaro flew through the air and in what wasn’t an unfamiliar spot, headed straight for metal pole behind the turnbuckle.

But in what looked like a very common scene, turned out to be a gruesome one.  Cesaro went mouth first into the post and when he turned around, his face looked like something out of a horror movie.  His mouth oozed blood and when some of the fluid was swallowed back, all that could be seen was shattered teeth.  At least 2 of his front teeth were smashed and as he tried to attend to the damage on his own, the situation intensified as mouth continuously filled with more blood.  However, after some ringside attention, Cesaro went back to work.  After all, there were tag titles to try and win.

This was a 16-minute match and Cesaro’s accident happened about five minutes in.  That’s right, for over the next 10 minutes he battled through the pain and didn’t skip a beat.  And not only did he perform admirably, between he, Sheamus, Ambrose, and Seth Rollins, the two teams put on the best match of the night and one of the very best matches of the year Sunday night.

If an MVP could be awarded for No Mercy, it would’ve gone to Cesaro.  o battle through such a vicious injury yet perform so brilliantly in the night’s best bout, was stunningly inspiring.  Toughness is a word thrown around a lot when describing WWE superstars and Cesaro showed everyone why Sunday night. Maybe this is the moment he needed to finally take the next step in his career that most fans feel he deserves.
