WWE Raw: Winners and Losers For September 25

Who were the big winners and losers on this week’s episode of Raw?

After WWE Raw on Monday, there are a handful of superstars who are seeing their stock rise. Likewise, a couple of superstars look like they’ve hit a rough spot. A pro wrestler’s career is always full of peaks and valleys, but in WWE they get magnified because of the number of eyes on them at all times.

With that said, let’s take a look at some superstars on the move after Raw this week.

Winners

  • The Miz, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel

Well, it’s not very often that anyone gets an upper hand on Roman Reigns these days. The Big Dog was coming off a huge victory over John Cena at No Mercy. He was then booked as the guest on “the most must see edition of Miz TV in history” to discuss it.

That discussion eventually came around to rumors of a Shield reunion, which Reigns denied (of course he did). When Reigns faced The Miz later in the evening, things turned vicious, with Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel lending a hand to their fearless leader.

When all was said and done, The Miztourage stood tall over Reigns after attacking him with steel chairs. They mocked The Shield’s fistbump pose, indicating that maybe they really are better than The Shield ever was (they’re not). Being the catalyst for a Shield reunion is one of the best things that Miz, Dallas, and Axel could be doing right now. Whether they end up in a match with Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins or not, it’s a huge spot for them.

  • Braun Strowman

Ho hum, another Raw, another week where Braun Strowman was one of the best parts. Coming off a disappointing loss at No Mercy to Brock Lesnar, Strowman was in no mood for playing around. He immediately answered an open challenge from Curt Hawkins, who tried to bail.

But Strowman is deceptively quick, and he chased Hawkins down, putting him through a table and the LED light board on the stage. Strowman issued his own open challenge, and defeated Dean Ambrose when the Lunatic Fringe wandered down to the ring.

Despite losing to Lesnar, Strowman is still one of the most destructive forces in WWE or on Raw. He’ll be more than okay moving forward, as evidenced by the devastation caused this week.

Losers

  • Enzo Amore

Yeah, yeah, a lot of people are excited that Enzo looks like he’s embracing the hate and turning heel. Me personally? I think his run as Cruiserweight Champion will ultimately be viewed as a failure.

After cheating to defeat Neville at No Mercy for the title, Enzo demanded a “Championship Celebration,” much to the chagrin of Kurt Angle. The new champ also demanded an order of protection, since he heard rumors that, well, everyone hated him and were going to attack him.

But no one cared about said order, because Enzo’s celebration was interrupted by the entire 205 Live roster. How can you look like a winner if literally everyone – heels and faces alike – come to the stage to shut you up? Of course, Enzo had to denigrate the roster – unfairly, in many cases – before Neville put the hurt on him.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the potential double turn takes shape – on 205 Live, Enzo returned the favor and laid out Neville. But it’s going to take a lot to make Enzo seem like more than a punching bag, champion or not.
