4. Another Week, Another Heavy Machinery Squash Match – NXT

Let’s get something straight. It is absolutely painful for this writer to include anything from NXT on this list in any given week. The superstars from Full Sail University have been so good for so long, that having to point out a fault is like having to admit that one’s home city’s football team isn’t that good. When your track record for putting on brilliance each week and especially on WWE Network specials, it almost feels wrong to judge these kids.

But unfortunately, when RAW and Smackdown deliver during the week, it leaves NXT susceptible to negativity. So here we go.

Heavy Machinery is a good, young tag team. 25 year-old Otis Dozovic and 27 year-old Tucker Knight may have a bright future in the NXT tag team division sooner, rather than later. In fact, about three months ago they put on a solid showing in a failed attempt to capture the titles from The Authors of Pain on an episode of NXT.

But since then, they’re TV exposure has been limited to squash match victories. Last month it was against the team of Damien Aweel and Edwin Negron, and last night it was a beat down of Demitrius Bronson and Patrick Scott. Of those four opponents, only one (Bronson) is actually on the WWE’s roster.

These wins may beef up the duos resume, but until they pick up a meaningful win over a top team, these squash matches won’t do much to make them look like the next contenders to tag team gold. Again, there was nothing inherently wrong with this match, but it’s been proven that the NXT writers are capable of so much more.
