WWE Hell In A Cell 2017: 3 Superstars Who Desperately Need A Win

Yes, it sounds strange. How could a guy that in the last two and a half years has won the NXT Championship, the Intercontinental title twice, the United States title 3 times, while also capturing the Universal Championship, possibly need a win? But it’s true. Owens needs to defeat Shane McMahon at Hell In A Cell and he needs to do it convincingly. For the past month, “KO” has been nothing short of brilliant. His monster heel work has been the best stuff he’s done since joining the main roster over two years ago and his attack on Vince McMahon on the September 12th SmackDown is something that will go down in history as one one of the most shockingly vicious moments in WWE history. A win on Sunday would set Owens up for big business in the near future.
For a guy who has accomplished as much as Owens has in such a short amount of time, his recent fortunes haven’t been as impressive. He struggled mightily with AJ Styles over the U.S. title, a program in which Styles continuously got the better of “The Prizefighter”. His constant complaining about what he believes to be injustices from “Shane O’Mac” has led him here. And as great as Shane is as an entertainer, sorry, but he’s not on Owens’s level as far as in-ring ability goes. In fact, it’s not even close. Factor in that Shane hasn’t won a PPV singles match since 2003 when he defeated Eric Bischoff at that year’s SummerSlam, and the idea that he can defeat Owens is a long shot at best.

Owens has a chance firmly cement himself as the resident number one heel on the blue brand and it all seems to be coming together for him at the right time. Shane is a guy who is never afraid to take loads of punishment in the name of entertainment so Owens will unquestionably have the chance ramp up his most recent violent streak even more. When Sunday is over, Owens could possibly be the most feared man on SmackDown. However, if he loses, he’ll have to go back to the drawing board and who knows how long it’ll take for him to make it back to where he is at this current moment.
