The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division

Highlights of the division

The Usos and the New Day have had the best rivalry in the WWE the year but it must end this Sunday. This championship feud will end with the New Day retaining their titles in the best match of the night. Both teams have stepped up to the plate for the past five months but now it’s time for other teams to get some shine in the division. This rivalry is a hallmark of what every tag team has dreamed of, having five-star matches, entertaining promos and a riveting story. The Usos have had their run on the top and it will be fascinating on how they transition themselves out of the title picture.

That’s why the Hell in a Cell pre-show match between the Hype Bros and Gable/Benjamin will be critical on who will be facing the champs next. The Hype Bros have been on a losing streak and haven’t won one match since Zack Ryder came back from injury in June. Maybe it’s time the WWE have the Hype Bros turn heel and cheat their way to a win over their opponents this Sunday. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin will need to develop their characters in order to take the next step as title contenders. They are completely bland at the moment and need to flesh out their personas more.

Breezango will make their return at Hell in a Cell for a new episode of the Fashion Files. This team has definitely raised their stocks the past year with their backstage antics but they need direction moving forward. They still haven’t addressed the question of who was attacking them during the summer and that’s the angle everyone is still asking.

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
