The SmackDown Live Mid Card Division

Highlights of the division

Kevin Owens not only brutalized Shane McMahon to close out the show but it gives the feeling that the SmackDown Live Commissioner has no shot in winning inside the cell. In all honesty, what was the point in showing Kevin Owens dismantling Shane McMahon for 10 minutes to end SmackDown Live? Especially 5 days before they main event the pay per view. Nobody in their right mind thinks that Shane McMahon will beat Kevin Owens, even if he was 100 percent. The former United States Champion will win this Sunday and hope that he’s elevated to the WWE Championship picture soon afterwards.

Baron Corbin lost to Tye Dillinger right before he faces off against AJ Styles for the United States Championship this Sunday. This feud has been extremely boring for the most part and it was a big mistake not to have Tye Dillinger involved in the title match. AJ Styles should be favoured to retain the gold and hope he has the chance to face off against the Perfect 10 once again. As for Baron Corbin, it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen to him after he loses this Sunday. He was primed for a main event push and in a span of one month he lost all his momentum. It’ll be fascinating on how he’ll be pushed moving forward after Hell in a Cell concludes.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the division..

As for Tye Dillinger, he finally cracked the contenders list after his victory over Baron Corbin. With Mike Kanellis jobbing to Bobby Roode, the Perfect 10 snuck his way into being a title contender in the mid-card division. He alluded in his backstage interview after his win that he wants the winner of the United States Championship match after Hell in a Cell. It’s about damn time the WWE pushed Tye Dillinger, he has been miscast on SmackDown Live since his NXT call-up back in April. The WWE is in dire need of bonafide babyface and the Perfect 10 fits that bill.

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
