WWE Hell in a Cell 2017: Tye Dillinger Added To U.S. Title Match

Tye Dillinger originally wasn’t scheduled to be in the WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 match for the United States Championship despite being heavily involved in the feud, but Daniel Bryan finally came to his senses and added Dillinger to the fight.

AJ Styles and Kevin Owens traded brief United States Championship reigns throughout the summer, but Styles has moved on to a program with Baron Corbin ever since. However, the program hasn’t solely been with Corbin, because Tye Dillinger has been heavily involved every step of the way in the build to WWE Hell in a Cell 2017.

And unlike Corbin, Dillinger hasn’t resorted to cheap shots, and he put on an impressive performance against Styles in Las Vegas that nearly netted him a victory via a Tye Breaker. Just last week on SmackDown Live, Dillinger rolled up Corbin for a victory.

Because of his win over Corbin and other performances in the U.S. Title picture over the past several weeks, Dillinger finally asked SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan to be inserted in the United States Championship match tonight at Hell in a Cell. Bryan, being the reasonable GM, obliged, and fans rejoiced. Most fans wondered why Dillinger wasn’t inserted in the match in the first place.

Fans were worried that Corbin would drag Styles down in a singles match, so Dillinger’s inclusion in this bout to make it a triple threat will automatically make things more exciting. Dillinger likely won’t win, and it is very likely he will take the pinfall from Corbin if there is a championship change. This would serve the wise purpose of making Styles look as strong as possible when he moves on to a WWE Championship feud, which he definitely deserves, against either Jinder Mahal or Shinsuke Nakamura.

I have a feeling Styles will bring another gear to this match that we haven’t seen on television, and we know that Dillinger can work, too. Corbin has impressed in triple threat matches before, including on the final 2016 episode of SmackDown Live in a legitimate 4.5-star match that included Styles and Dolph Ziggler.
