3. Jinder Mahal can work only one type of match

So you are the WWE champion going up against one of the most charismatic wrestler in the entire WWE. You are facing a guy who can craft a five-star match against a broom stick. What do you do? If you are Jinder Mahal, you work the same exact match you did in the last outing. The fact that he did pretty much the same against Orton as well adds insult to injury.

Nakamura has the ability to bring out the best in people. The fact that this match worked the way it did is indeed a testament to his skills. He practically carried the weight of the entire match on his own. One can make the case that Mahal follows an old school heel style. He employs simple strikes and holds and crafts a methodical offense. That can work at times when the opponent is suffering from a storyline injury. It did not work this time.

The fact that the Singh brothers generated more buzz than Mahal did is another thing. Needless to say, this match all but confirmed that Mahal is a poor choice to hold the WWE title. His in-ring skills are not on par with even the mid-carders on SmackDown Live. Placing the title on him for business interest alone might prove to be disastrous in the long run. Moreover, with every outing, he is hurting his own shot at doing something meaningful once he drops the title.
