 1. The peak of Tag Team wrestling

A few weeks back, Ryan Dilbert of Bleach Report noted that tag team wrestling might be at its best in recent times. Last night, the Usos and New Day did more than symbolically agree with that statement. They put on an instant classic inside the Hell in a Cell structure. It was the perfect way to kick-off the show and sent the crowd into a frenzy.

If last night taught us anything, it is that the tag division can always be relied on to deliver stand out performance. At No Mercy, Cesaro proved his toughness by fighting through pain, blood and missing tooth. Last night, at WWE Hell in a Cell 2017, the Usos and the New Day put everything they had and more on the line to entertain the audience. They took some serious bumps and could have possibly injured themselves in the process. Who else cringed at the sight of Big E’s spear through the ropes and into the steel?

These teams put everything on the line and the outcome was a fantastic match. Sure, Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon would tear the house down later in the night. However, that match lived more on emotion and fear rather than telling a story inside the ring. The tag title bout on the other hand, was a slug fest. They kicked things into a high gear right from the start with weapons. No other match in recent times have lived up to its hype as much as this match did.

What are your thoughts on this list? Do you agree with the issues we have highlighted here? If I could add one more entry to it, it would have been the possibility of Styles moving back to WWE title contention. But for the time being, we would just have to wait and see whether that comes into fruition. Will he finally be the one to end the reign of the Modern day Maharaja?
