WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 has come and gone and it will be a night many won’t soon forget.  For the New Day and Usos, it was business as usual.  The two teams went to war once again and stole the show.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 has come and gone and there will be a lot of sore bodies today.  With a card that lived up to the hype it was receiving, fans were treated to a fun night.  Baron Corbin would defeat both AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger.  Natalya walked away with her Women’s Championship.  And the show ended with one of the biggest surprised the WWE has offered in a long while.  But when the dust settles, The New Day and The Usos will walk away having had the match of the night.

The Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships opened the main card and set the tone for the rest of the night.  Whenever The Usos and New Day are in the ring together it is pure magic.  The two teams have a great chemistry and have often had the best match on the card.  This was the match of the night without a doubt but as Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens kept escalating they were a close second place.

The match began with The New Day and Usos brawling and in what felt instantly, the weapons began flying.  Xavier Woods had a treasure chest of trombones hidden under the ring and used them to exact some violence.  The tables would soon turn and The Usos would gain the upper hand and they would dissect The New Day one by one.  The pace these two teams were working with was off the charts.

Welcome to the Usos Penitentiary

The New Day, mostly known for their comedy, gave a glimpse into a darker side of their personalities.  At one point Xavier and Big E had Jimmy Uso in the corner of the cell and barricaded him in with kendo sticks so he couldn’t move.  This was one of the high points of the match as it was incredibly creative and a great depiction of this feud.  But the good times did not last, and soon, the New Day would be checked into the Usos Penitentiary.

More from SmackDown

The Usos took the violence to the next level.  They handcuffed BIg E to the ropes and then handcuffed Xavier’s hands together and wrapped them around the ring post.  Leaving Woods fully vulnerable, The Usos would begin to take turns cracking kendo sticks across his midsection.  The match would come to an end as a final New Day counterattack would be stifled.  The Usos hit the double splash onto Woods with a chair and they walk away with the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

Where these two teams go from here isn’t clear. After a win on the pre-show, it looks likes Gable and Benjamin will be the new #1 contenders to The Usos. The New Day will be in a limbo for the meantime until something more clear can present itself. But on this night, just one more time, these two teams were the best thing on the show.

Shane and KO came real close and they may honestly be 1 and 1A.  For the sake of the argument though, another Smackdown Live event has come and gone, and another New Day vs. Usos match stole the show.  Hopefully, when they got backstage, they let out a huge “follow that!”
