4. Emma

Just like Kalisto, we don’t know what lies ahead for Emma in the coming weeks. Actually, I take that back. I know exactly what awaits her at TLC later this month. To quote Paul Heyman, she is going to be ‘beaten, victimized and eviscerated’ by the Empress of Tomorrow. Emma is being built up only as a sacrificial lamb to place Asuka at the top of the division.

But for the time being, she won a match cleanly on WWE Raw. Let’s just leave it as it is and pretend that we don’t know what awaits her. She did a wonderful job during the match and was the ever-so opportunistic heel who lasted just long enough to get the win. If anything, this match showed how well Emma can be booked if creative were ever to get behind her fully.

Above everything else, getting the win by pinning Sasha Banks matters. The only thing bigger than that in the division right now would be pinning Nia Jax, who was nowhere to be found this week. So for the time being, Emma did the best she could and lived to tell about it. Let’s just hope she lives to tell about the beat-down she will suffer at the hands of Asuka. I keep getting back to that point. Perhaps it is because the writing on the wall is so clear. Again, it is alarmingly ironic how Emma got a win only to lose even more momentum two weeks down the line.
