Last night, news broke on former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville leaving the company. What’s the latest?

Yesterday, a rumour was started regarding Neville leaving the WWE. In a hope to learn more, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reached out to his sources. Satin confirmed that Neville was scheduled to face Enzo Amore, and lose, in the Cruiserweight Lumberjack match in the main event of Raw. However, the match didn’t take place because Neville left the show early.

Kalisto then replaced Neville in the match and beat Amore to win the Cruiserweight Championship.

Since yesterday, there has been a ton of speculation and rumours regarding The King of The Cruiserweights.

According to a report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Neville left Raw very angry. At this point, it’s hard to gauge whether he was angry with being scheduled to lose to Amore, or if another issue was on his mind. Also, according to Sean, WWE officials did try to reason with Neville, however, Neville wasn’t willing to play ball.

Furthermore, the report continues by saying the company wanted Neville to show up on Tuesday to talk things out again. No one has confirmed that he showed up to the meeting. Finally, Sapp mentions that the WWE’s intention is to of course not cut ties with the Superstar if possible.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer also released some info. He confirms that Neville did leave before Raw, and he also confirmed that he was scheduled to face Amore in the main event. And finally, he mentions that the WWE are denying that Neville asked for his release.

It’s important to note that the company have not yet released a statement on the former NXT Champion.

The news seems to come out of left field, with no one really expecting Neville to be unhappy in the company. The unhappiness could be stemming from Amore’s arrival in the Cruiserweight division, and Neville’s subsequent demotion from being Cruiserweight Champion.

At this point, it’s hard to tell whether Neville will be leaving the WWE — much like former Cruiserweight Austin Aries. However, it’s clear to see that the Superstar is not happy. Hopefully, the company can sort out their issues with this insanely talented performer. If they truly want to grow the division, they can’t afford to lose a big name like Neville.
