WWE SmackDown Live Winners and Losers: Sami Zayn Explains His Actions
By Bryan Heaton
Loser: Carmella
In classic WWE fashion, the superstar holding a Money in the Bank briefcase has been booked to look like total garbage. For weeks now, the most interesting thing about Carmella is her weird obsession with James Ellsworth. Even the most hipster of hipster wrestling fans has been over Ellsworth since, oh, January.
Whenever SmackDown Live is part of a pay per view, Carmella threatens to cash in her contract during or after the SmackDown Women’s Championship match. But then the big day arrives, and The Staten Island Princess finds a hiding place next to Jimmy Hoffa. She’s nowhere to be found when it counts.
Then consider this week on SmackDown Live. She’s booked in a match against Becky Lynch (another Judge Crater wannabe). After a short match – bad enough in itself – Becky wins via submission with the Dis-Arm-Her. And there’s Carmella, unofficially the number one contender for the Women’s Championship, just giving up like it’s nothing.

If the historic first Women’s Money in the Bank champion is going to be a worthy candidate for such an honor, she needs to start looking the part. Win a few matches, be on the actual TV program instead of just the YouTube channel, and look less like Damien Sandow circa 2013. Otherwise, she may see her run with the briefcase be all for naught.
