If you are looking for a big name to go up against Connor McGregor, Mr. Muscles Marinara may not be anyone’ first choice. However, there is a bit of long term storytelling that could pay off here.
When Enzo Amore was just about to begin his singles career, he decided to tweet out some trash talk to McGregor, and he even went on to mention McGregor in some of the WWE promos that he cut, but it didn’t stop there.

Enzo Amore is someone who loves to flaunt his luxurious lifestyle, and he did just that when he bought a $10,000 ticket to go see the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight in Las Vegas. He was clearly on the side of Mayweather and trash talked the Notorious One throughout the night.

This gives McGregor and Amore a reason to fight at WrestleMania. Now that Enzo has fully turned heel, Enzo can be the deluded and cocky fighter who calls out McGregor, and McGregor can actually show up, shock the world, and absolutely destroy Enzo.
Even though Enzo Amore is not considered a main eventer or big name in WWE, he has proven with his most recent work on Raw and 205 Live that he is a draw. This would also help put the cruiserweight division on the map in a big way.
But McGregor is simply too big for the cruiserweight division, right?
