Finn Balor

Finn Balor is yet to truly regain the momentum he had last summer. Injury derailed his first Universal Championship run before it had even got going, and by the time he returned to Raw the entire landscape had changed.

Monday nights have become the land of the giants. Brock Lesnar is the champion, and his biggest challenges have come from Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe. That doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon either, with Roman Reigns’ inevitable championship run coming in the near future.

Despite hinting at challenging for the Universal Title a few times, Balor remains the odd one out in the main event picture. And as long as Lesnar, Reigns and Strowman are the featured acts, Balor’s time on top remains on hold. But the same wouldn’t be true on SmackDown. The blue brand is in need of another top babyface following Sami Zayn’s heel turn, and Balor would be a perfect addition.

Balor, along with AJ Styles, can be the face of Tuesday nights. There’s no reason why The Demon couldn’t be the one to finally end Jinder Mahal’s reign as WWE Champion, setting up a feast of intriguing feuds entering WrestleMania season.

Balor vs. Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34, anyone?
