WWE TLC 2017: Predicting Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt

WWE TLC 2017 is a week away, and it appears Finn Balor will once again go toe to toe with Bray Wyatt.  The leader of the Wyatt Family looks to finally get into the mind of Balor.

Here we are wrestling fans, just days away from another Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor match at WWE TLC 2017. We’ve had the Eater of Worlds tussle with the Demon. We’ve had it be just man vs. man. And now, at TLC, this feud will be decided in an Evening Gown Match! Well, maybe not, but Jerry Brisco and Pat Patterson set the bar too high to challenge. In all seriousness, wrestling fans will get the debut of Sister Abigail.

Sister Abigail has long been the voice inside of Wyatt’s head, sorry Randy.  She has been the spirit that motivates and steers his moral compass – what he feels is right and wrong, just and correct.  She is the roadmap within which he is guiding his travels.  Up until now, though, she has been this near-mythical figure never to be seen.

As the whispers of Sister Abigail finally making her debut began to swirl, fans instantly began to wonder which female talent would get the call.  NXT stalwarts Nikki Cross and Sarah Logan (formerly Crazy Mary Dobson) were names thrown around, and some fans even threw Paige’s name out there.  Personally, I feel Rosemary from The Decay would be an ideal choice, but sadly she’s still locked into a deal with GFW.

Then the night came, and fans around the world were finally going to meet Sister Abigail.

As Finn and Bray were going back and forth in a verbal fencing match, the typical Bray Wyatt camera magic began.  And before anyone could truly process what was happening,  Bray would reappear in what would be some makeup, possibly a wig, and some more camera trickery.  Thus leading us back to the task at hand, Finn Balor v. Bray Wyatt at TLC.

Balor looks to make it a clean sweep over Wyatt

Their previous matches have been the bright spots in this feud, as the “side dishes” (the segments on Raw) have been disappointing.  The balance is what justifies the continuance and evolution of the story.  The sudden lack of balance is where this feud first went off the tracks.  Finn is currently 2-0 against Bray in their series of matches.  With Balor having a major advantage, what’s the point in a third match?  Bray may be getting the leg up in the mental portion, but then Balor gets the victory when it counts most.

What seems to be the most worrisome piece of the puzzle is, even with all of this buildup, the WWE doesn’t even list his match for TLC.  This may just be an oversight, as it seems very clear that is when this feud will meet its timely death, but doesn’t bode well for card placement.  If the WWE is worried this match may no longer have traction after the Sister Abigail detour, I worry these guys may be sent to the pre-show.

Balor and Wyatt both have potential that ranks them above others on the roster.  Sadly though, it seems they can’t get their hands dirty with a strong storyline.  Bray had a run as WWE Champion that came to a quick end at WrestleMania this year.  Balor was the inaugural Universal Champion, but his reign ended before it even began.  These two, when given some traction, have the ability to make chicken salad out of chicken crap.  Finn seems to be on the upswing and climbing back to the top of the mountain.

Final Prediction: I expect another Balor victory as he starts his march towards the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season.
