The Raw Women’s Division

Highlights of the division

A stupid move by the WWE to have Mickie James pin Alexa Bliss in a tag team match just days before their title bout at TLC. The WWE has constantly undermined any woman who has held the title on Raw this year to constantly take the loss in non title or tag matches. Alexa Bliss is by far the worst booked champion in the WWE, no question about that. Creative on Raw single-handedly turned a Smackdown star like Alexa Bliss from the Superstar Shakeup into an afterthought champion heading into TLC. She’ll probably beat Mickie James to retain the gold since that has been the norm in all Bliss title matches.

Asuka will finally make her debut this Sunday at TLC against Emma. The Empress of Tomorrow is a game changer for Monday Night Raw. But how she’ll be booked in her match against Emma, will be key to see if she’ll get a slow build to the title picture or be inserted right away. She’s clearly the future of the division so it’ll be wise for the WWE to handle her projection with extreme care. They have already ruined Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Sasha Banks. No way in hell should they even make Asuka look less than how she was presented on NXT.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the division…

Sasha Banks scored a quick victory over Alicia Fox on Raw but then got attacked backstage by Fox after the match. Now both women will be in the TLC kickoff show in a rematch from their Raw encounter. First off, this was extremely lazy by the WWE to have both women start a feud 6 days before the PPV and also to have their match on be on the main card.

Both women have had history this year when they faced off in a mixed tag team match at Extreme Rules in May. But having their feud kick off over an elimination match to determine who would face Asuka at TLC is just stupid. Both women deserve way better to be feuding over that. Alicia Fox might beat Sasha Banks in their rubber match to continue the feud. But if the Boss wins then what was the point of the match to begin with?

These are the rankings for the division this week.
