2. The Entire 6-Man Tag Segment – RAW
Where to even begin with this one. Actually, that’s pretty easy. Let’s start with the very beginning. Elias has been terrific in his role of garnering heel heat through song going on about four months now. He has a way about him that just seems to get under the audience’s skin, in a good, fun to hate kind of way. So why add Gallows and Anderson to this? All their silly rendition of “The Honky Tonk Man” did was hurt Elias’ interaction with the crowd and made the duo continue to look more and more ridiculous. You know, for a team that has won WWE tag team gold as well as the IWGP tag titles, a feat only two other teams have ever accomplished, these guys are really given nothing to work with.
Then of course, there’s Titus O’Neil and the played out “Titus Brand” nonsense that has somehow roped Jason Jordan into in some shape or form. After spending the last two weeks getting owned by Elias, Titus and Apollo Crews enlisted Jordan in their quest to finally get a victory. And did they? Yes. But really, did anybody win? By the time the referee counted Anderson’s shoulders to the mat it was pretty clear that this was all just filler material. And for six guys capable of so much more, what a shame.
So maybe this will finally close the book on the Titus Brand/Elias/Good Brothers/Jordan feud. But maybe not. With Survivor Series just a month away, will the WWE fans continue to be subjected to this repetitive weekly narrative just long enough to squeeze out one more match, elimination style at the November pay per view? Let’s hope not, because this is a program that should’ve ended weeks ago but continues on due to nothing more than the company’s lack of creative direction with six fairly talented guys.
