The Miz Delivers A Pep Talk

The Miz is the greatest character in WWE today, and you can’t convince me otherwise. He nails everything about this segment, from facial expressions to the perfect words for the situation. I think he’s definitely the perfect captain for this squad tonight.

Anyway, Miz wants the team to be the best they can be. Braun Strowman wants nothing to do with the pep talk, he just wants to hurt people. You know, I’m totally on board with that.

Kane, too, wants to hurt the opposition. Miz wants to take them out so he and his teammates can “run Raw,” but no one else seems to care about that. They just want to cause pain and suffering. Braun and Kane leave, and The Miz and The Bar mock The Shield fist bump one last time.

Elias: Live In Concert

It was nice of Elias to pay tribute to Minnesota’s favorite son Prince at the top of his concert. He really seems to focus on his craft, which is admirable. And whoever has been giving Elias lessons since his NXT debut deserves a raise – the man can actually play the guitar now!

But ultimately, the segment is completely useless (unless an impromptu match happens later tonight). While Elias is performing, someone throws a bunch of vegetables at him. Seriously. The camera pans back and the lights go up, and it’s Jason Jordan. This of course stems from a run-in on the Kickoff Show, but does it really matter?

We’re less than thirty minutes into the pay per view and it’s literally already a standard episode of Raw. Backstage segments, meaningless in-ring segments with no match, it’s all there.
