WWE Raw Winners and Losers: Drew Gulak is the Voice of a Generation
By Bryan Heaton
Who were the big winners and losers on this week’s episode of WWE Raw?
After WWE Raw on Monday, there are a handful of superstars who are seeing their stock rise. Likewise, a couple of superstars look like they’ve hit a rough spot. A pro wrestler’s career is always full of peaks and valleys, but in WWE they get magnified because of the number of eyes on them at all times.
With that said, let’s take a look at some superstars on the move after Raw this week.
Winner: Drew Gulak
There aren’t many people out there who are bigger fans of Drew Gulak than me. The man is one of the best technicians in the world, and he’s way more charismatic than most people give him credit for. This week on Raw, he finally got to show that off a little bit.
Enzo Amore may have won the Cruiserweight Championship at TLC, but he lost his voice along the way. That’s not a metaphor – dude literally can’t speak. So he slogged through a brief (but great) promo on the pay per view, and had Gulak serve as his mouthpiece during Raw.
And it was absolutely amazing. Gulak is so good at playing a “holier than thou” type of character, and speaking Enzo’s lines with proper grammar and enunciation was brilliant. I don’t particularly care for Gulak being buddies with Enzo (the Drew Gulak I know and love would have taken him out back and whooped him for stealing moves from Chuck Taylor). But if it’s going to happen, letting Drew speak for him is a great move.
