3. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch is captain of Team SmackDown. And she’s the perfect fit for the role. The Irish Lass Kicker led the way in Monday night’s ambush of the Raw locker room, and now she’ll guide her team into Survivor Series.

She is the right choice, more so than best buddy Charlotte, who was captain of the Raw team a year ago. Lynch has been on SmackDown since Day 1 following last year’s brand split. She was the show’s first Women’s Champion and has been on (straight) fire in recent weeks.

The question now is whether she’ll have the same four teammates come Survivor Series. Michael Cole stressed time and again on both SmackDown and Raw this week that the champion versus champion matches will change if a title switches hands.

Considering the fact there are two heel-only matches, including Natalya-Alexa Bliss, could we see a changing of the guard atop the SmackDown Women’s division? Don’t be surprised if Charlotte wins the title in the coming weeks, putting current-champ Nattie into the elimination match. But that’s an entirely different conversation.

This is good news for Becky Lynch. She has been treading water for the past few months, but her role as captain could lead to fresh feuds beyond Survivor Series.
