WWE SmackDown Live Winners and Losers: Dissension Between Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan
By Bryan Heaton
Who were the big winners and losers on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live?
After WWE SmackDown Live on Tuesday, there are a handful of superstars who are seeing their stock rise. Likewise, a couple of superstars look like they’ve hit a rough spot. A pro wrestler’s career is always full of peaks and valleys, but in WWE they get magnified because of the number of eyes on them at all times.
With that said, let’s take a look at some superstars on the move after SmackDown Live this week.
Losers: Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon
You might be thinking, “But the SmackDown roster invaded Raw and beat everyone up! How could the person behind that be a loser this week?” Good question! But here’s the reason – Shane went rogue and didn’t even bother telling his general manager. How can you present a united, strong front if the people at the top aren’t on the same page?
If we want to get really picky about this, Daniel Bryan probably comes out looking a little better. He’s smart enough to look two, three, and four steps ahead, and knows that Kurt Angle (and probably Stephanie McMahon) are going to retaliate at some point in some way. Shane is going on pure pride here, and he neglected to think about the consequences of his actions.
But as a union, Shane and D-Bry are in bad shape. Bryan has already stated that if push comes to shove, he’ll basically throw Shane-O-Mac under the bus, McMahon or not. It’s going to put the Blue Team in a bad place come Survivor Series if these two can’t refocus and get back on the same page.
