Welcome Back, Joe
It’s great to see Samoa Joe back in any capacity. Cutting an amazing promo is probably the best way to see him return, short of getting an impromptu match with Brock Lesnar and beating him to become Universal Champion. Beggars can’t be choosers, though.
Anyway, Joe basically lays out a challenge to get back into the swing of things, and it’s answered by… Apollo Crews? Okay!

Samoa Joe vs. Apollo Crews (w/ Titus O’Neil)
Result: Samoa Joe defeated Apollo Crews via submission
Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars
Apparently, Crews wants to be on the Raw Survivor Series team after being the first one to get ambushed last week. He took this match to state his case. It’s a bold strategy, Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.
For the past several weeks, though, Crews has been quietly putting on some pretty good matches. Going up against Joe here is the next in line. Even though he came up on the losing end, Crews did a bunch of great things. He was able to get Joe staggered with a couple of standing enziguiris, but couldn’t close the deal with the toss powerbomb.
But if Joe was coming back, he was going to win. The urinage out of the corner was so vicious I want to bottle it up and save it for later. Apollo bounced about twenty feet after that, then ended up tapping out to the Coquina Clutch.
Titus O’Neil went to stand up for his client after the match – he also may have been looking for retribution after Joe threw his gum at Titus during the match. Joe looked to back off, but once Titus turned his back he was the next victim to the Coquina Clutch.
It’s safe to say Joe looks pretty healthy, and he seems to be ready for the long haul. Great to have him back.
