WWE SmackDown Live Winners and Losers: All About Shane McMahon
By Bryan Heaton
Who were the big winners and losers on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live?
After WWE SmackDown Live on Tuesday, there are a handful of superstars who are seeing their stock rise. Likewise, a couple of superstars look like they’ve hit a rough spot. A pro wrestler’s career is always full of peaks and valleys, but in WWE they get magnified because of the number of eyes on them at all times.
With that said, let’s take a look at some superstars on the move after SmackDown Live this week.
Winner: Shane McMahon
It didn’t take long into the episode this week for Shane McMahon to make everything all about himself. The Commissioner unsurprisingly named himself the captain for Team Blue’s Survivor Series squad. After Shane’s sister Stephanie returned to Raw to name Kurt Angle captain over there, it was just a matter of time before Shane laced them up once again.
Look, there’s arguments to be made both ways for Shane’s entire in-ring career, let alone his being captain at Survivor Series. The guy’s not really a wrestler, and he always takes a spot away from someone else. But he also works his butt off to put on the best show possible, and he’s risking his own body instead of putting the full-time guys in danger.
But I’m saying Shane is an overall winner, regardless of the fact that guys like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are not on the team. The bottom line is that story-wise, Shane is putting his fight in his own hands rather than make someone else do it for him. That’s an admirable trait, so I have to recognize him for it.
