The Nov. 6 edition of WWE Raw was an up and down show, but there were several noteworthy developments surrounding Survivor Series.
Survivor Series is less than two weeks away and WWE Raw filled its remaining spots on both its men’s and women’s teams in the battle against SmackDown. But outside of Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown implications, Survivor Series has been drastically shaken up in another match as well.
While the decision made on last night’s Raw is a highly questionable one in regards to Survivor Series, it was an unexpected move. Let’s take a look at five takeaways from the Nov. 6 edition of Raw.
5. There is No Way to Make Jason Jordan vs. Elias Feel Important
The Jason Jordan experiment on Raw over the past few months has seen its fair share of twists and turns. From being brought to Monday nights as the kayfabe son of Kurt Angle to briefly battling The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship, it has been a tall task for the WWE to try and get Jordan over.
But as of late, Jordan’s feud with Elias has been the next piece of the unorthodox puzzle. Elias has been an individual that has lacked direction over the past several months and has turned into a more or less joke on Raw. And the feud between Jordan and Elias hasn’t exactly been entertaining or beneficial for either superstar.
It has been a subpar feud and last night’s Guitar on a Pole Match added to the level of subpar. It’s been fairly clear for weeks, but last night really showed that there’s just no way to make this feud feel important and no way to get fans invested in it. If the WWE wants to continue its Jordan project, it needs to continue in a different direction.
And Elias’ gimmick was cool at first, but there are not enough other layers shown from his character to show he can break out into a prominent force on Raw. Both individuals need something good to happen to them, but their recent feud has been anything but good.
Jordan and Elias are talented individuals, but the WWE must figure out a formula to make them feel more important and over with the WWE universe.
