WWE Top 5 Female Superstars This Week: Becky Lynch Brings The Heat
1. Becky Lynch vs. James Ellsworth
The top female superstar and performer for this week is without a doubt The Lass Kicker Becky Lynch. Although this week she wasn’t lass kicking, but making James Ellsworth tap out! We haven’t seen an intergender match for quite some time in the WWE, the last I can think of was perhaps Lita taking on Heath Slater, which was on Raw‘s 1000th episode. This match has been building for a long time, with Lynch and Ellsworth being rivals from the very beginning. The heated Twitter exchange they had recently led to this match being made, and boy can we all be thankful.
After Ellsworth mocked women everywhere backstage before the match, Lynch verbally shut him down. But that wasn’t all, she practically owned him at every turn in their match. It was not a quick match as many probably expected, and there was time given to show just how good and powerful Lynch is in the ring and she can easily take on anyone. Ellsworth did do more of a comedy routine, but it was believable that he got defeated by Lynch. The match did keep itself within the PG scope, sure Ellsworth got in some offence but it wasn’t anything brutal. Lynch got in the big moves, and showed the man who really is the boss.

This match was a giant step for the Women’s Revolution, but also to show that intergender matches can happen in the PG era and be legitimate. We can only hope this paves the way for more matches like this, and it will certainly lead Becky Lynch to some bigger things in her future. Right now, Lynch is the female face of SmackDown, and honestly that is the way it should stay. The woman is one of a kind, and this match proved just how far she can go and she stands a chance against almost anyone.
