2. Charlotte wins SmackDown Women’s Championship

Charlotte winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship is not only the right decision for the show moving forward, but also Survivor Series. I wrote about why it should happen last month.

While a Natalya-Alexa Bliss match would have been fun, the heel-heel nature of it dampened some of the intrigue, particularly with another all-bad guy match taking place between The Miz and Baron Corbin. Fans now have a babyface to root for in Charlotte.

It was a great moment for Charlotte on Tuesday night, particularly with Ric Flair making an appearance to celebrate with his daughter. Charlotte is back on top of the Women’s division where she belongs. It finally feels like the WWE have the right two champions on SmackDown; AJ Styles and Charlotte should hold the top titles for some time.

The Flair-Bliss match at Survivor Series is perfect. These two have largely avoided one another on the main roster. Bliss rose to the top of the SmackDown division while Charlotte was dominating on Raw. Switching shows during the Superstar Shakeup, they stayed apart en route to capturing their respective championships on the other show.

Now they finally meet, and it should be a good one. The only disappointment is that they didn’t have longer to build this match.
