1. The Raw Revenge

It may have been predictable, but the close of SmackDown this week was excellent. Whereas “Under Siege” came as a surprise and added a sense of unpredictability to the show, it didn’t take a genius to know Raw’s retaliation was coming on Tuesday night. But it didn’t matter. The attack was extremely well done.

The New Day led the siege last month on Raw, so it was only fitting that they were the main targets this time around. The Shield ignited the ambush, and were soon joined by longtime rivals The Bar and Braun Strowman. Even Samoa Joe and Finn Balor showed unity.

SmackDown came off as heels during their attack of Raw, making the revenge far more satisfying to watch. Given how pleased with himself Shane McMahon was after “under siege”, it was hard to feel sympathy towards him while Kurt Angle evened the score.

The final act of SmackDown placed a bow on a well executed build to Survivor Series. It’s easily one of the most anticipated pay-per-views in some time. Many are critical of the brand versus brand rivalries, and there are certainly ways it can be improved, but I’ve personally enjoyed the entire story. There’s a night and day difference between this year’s Survivor Series and many of the failed attempts in the past like the “Bragging Rights” pay-per-view.

This was a fitting end to an exciting month in the WWE, and Sunday’s show should be a lot of fun.
