With Survivor Series in the books, it’s time to predict the matches for SmackDown Live’s next event, WWE Clash of the Champions.
After the dust settled at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Sunday night, both WWE brands could officially close the book on the inter-promotional battle and go back to focusing on their own story lines and prepare for the next series of events. For SmackDown Live, that means December 17th in Boston for the second ever WWE Clash of the Champions.
Any time both shows focus their energy on a brand versus brand narrative, it takes away from what ever current feuds were going on. Before the build for Survivor Series began, the blue brand had one of the more compelling programs going, that of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in their war with Shane McMahon. However, after Sunday night and Triple H’s actions towards him, McMahon seems to be going in another direction which may leave the two Canadians to search elsewhere.
On top of that, two of SmackDown’s other champions, Baron Corbin and Charlotte Flair were both victorious in Houston, and will also be in need of new challengers in short order.
So there are a few obvious ideas for the Clash, but outside of that, the show is going to need to start making itself an identity and soon.
So without too much to work with, let’s take a shot at predicting some of the bouts.
