AJ Styles Addresses The Fans
AJ Styles says that he wishes he could address the fans after defeating Brock Lesnar, but he said that he tried his hardest but couldn’t win. Styles adds that Lesnar is “every bit the Beast we thought he was”, and brought up the texts he received as congrats for holding his own against Brock. He noted Paul Heyman’s praise, as well as the comparisons to Rocky. But Styles proclaims that you don’t get trophies for second place.
He then yells that he’s had enough of talking about Brock and Survivor Series, and he is a little “salty” about Jinder believing that he will take the title away from Styles on SmackDown Live. The pops Styles gets when he yells his catchphrases are incredible, by the way.
Styles takes his attire off in preparation to fight Jinder in a title defense of the WWE Championship. Jinder, however, appears to be on the titantron. Like a classic heel, he says that he will only come to the ring on his own time, but he adds that he is busy watching Styles’s loss to Lesnar.
Jinder says that he could have beaten Lesnar, adding that Styles caught Jinder at a bad time. Styles ridicules Jinder for not being at Survivor Series, and he also laughs at Jinder’s “Beast Master” catchphrase.
The segment finishes with Jinder stating that he will invoke his rematch clause at Clash of Champions before doing some crazy easy laugh. As that happens, the Singh Brothers blindside Styles and get absolutely laid out for their efforts.
