Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Natalya Women’s Championship Match

Result: No contest due to interference

Rating: Before interference, 2.5 stars

Natalya came out on fire, ready to retake the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair, who made an immediate response with some patented chops. It was clear that Natalya was desperate to pick up the win early, though she couldn’t help herself and took some time to gloat.

She also showed more arrogance by literally walking over Charlotte after hitting the champion with her snap vertical suplex. Another highlight was a savage powerbomb from Natalya, which got the crowd behind Charlotte. However, Natalya locked on the Sharpshooter again, as Charlotte showed her resiliency by fighting through it before finally getting to the rope.

Charlotte then knocked Natalya head-first into the turnbuckle. She went for a moonsault, but Nattie countered with her knees.

But then Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan interfered in the match – just like Paige, Deville, and Rose did the night before – and the match ended. They attacked Natalya to “NXT” chants, and this was an absolutely awesome moment. Then, they moved to beat up Charlotte, who never had a chance. The three women proceeded to hit Charlotte with all of their finishers.

And I’m just sitting here wondering why Carmella didn’t cash in after this monumental beatdown of Charlotte Flair, because the SmackDown Women’s Championship was open for the taking. Oh well, at least she isn’t a bigger geek than Baron Corbin.
